Dog Grooming

These terms and conditions set out the agreement by which we at Awesome Pride & Groom provide our grooming service. At Awesome Pride & Groom your pets welfare and customer satisfaction is of our upmost priority. If you have any questions please speak to a member of staff. 

1. General -

Please ensure your pet has had the chance to toilet before their groom.

All pet owners are responsible for ensuring the groomer knows of any health conditions that could affect the groom. 

All pet owners are responsible for keeping their pet up to date with relevant vaccinations, flea and worming treatment.

We may take photos of your pet to use on our social media platforms. We will never name your pet or who the own is. Please inform us if you do not want pictures taking of your pet. Aggressive pets will be muzzled for the safety of the pet and groomer. The owner must disclose any behavioural issues to the groomer. 

2. Health and Welfare

Awesome Pride & Groom will not groom a dog that is in season/pregnant/has puppies for health reasons.

If your pet has fleas the groom will be refused until they are treated. If we find fleas on your pet whilst we are washing or grooming, your dog will be washed in a flea shampoo, towel dried as best as possible. They will not be fluff dried as this will spread eggs and fleas around the salon, your dog will be required to be collected, on top of the full appointment fee there will be an additional charge of £45.00 to cover the cost of flea shampoo and de-flea/fumigating the salon before we can use it for other dogs.

If a tick is found it will be removed.

If your pet appears unwell the groom will be refused.

  1. Prices and Charges

All prices are a GUIDELINE and dependent on many factors, but not limited to, coat condition, temperament, style chosen, time taken, size of dog, length of coat etc.

All prices include vat and may be updated without notice. We will try to give as much notice as we can if a price increase will happen.

  1. Cancellation Policy

4.1 If you cancel your appointment or do not show up without informing us, you will be changed a cancellation fee as follows;

  • Before 48 hours – no charge
  • 48 hours – 50% of the full groom
  • 24 hours - 100% of the full groom

4.2 Awesome Pride & Groom reserves the right to;

  • Refuse to rebook a client if the cancellation fees due are not paid in full
  • refuse to rebook if the cancellation terms are repeatedly abused.

If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, your appointment will be cancelled and rescheduled. We work one dog to one stylist to give the upmost care and attention to your dog. A cancellation fee of 100% will apply. Please inform us if you are running late.

We will message you 15-30mins before your dog is ready for collection. If your pet is left with us, without prior agreement, for longer than 15 mins after the agreed collection time after we have contacted you, there will be a £5.00 kenneling fee per 15 mins late for collection. Dog groom dogs are not catered for daycare/boarding as this is a separate service and charged accordingly.

Please do not come early to collect your dog as they may not be ready and if still being groomed this will unsettle them, possibly causing for the groom to be terminated prior to being able to finish.

  1. De-matting Policy

Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 professional groomers will not put any pet through pain and discomfort to achieve a hair style. If excessively matted or tangled and deemed necessary by our professional opinion, your pet will be clipped tight for their own comfort and advice will be given on how to prevent matting occurring again. There will be an extra charge from £40.00 to cover extra washes, shampoo, de-matting products and the cost of extra wear and tear on our equipment, re-sharpening from dirt and grit held in matts and tangles.

We will however if we choose spend a maximum of 15 mins de-matting or tangle removal which is charged at £1.50 per minute. We will always guide you to a schedule and style that is suitable for your dog and lifestyle.

Owners will be made aware of any de-matting that has been required and advised of the after care required. De-matting can cause irritation. The groomer will not be held liable for any irritation caused in the removal of matting.

Time keeping is very important to keep the minimal amount of dogs in the salon at any one time. When one dog leaves another will be arriving. We only have one dog per stylist at a time. We do not use cage dryers or cabinet dryers.

Home Boarding, Daycare, Taxi Service

Awesome Pride & Groom is required to provide you the following notice each time your dog(s) board overnight or stay for day-care.

If your animal becomes ill or injured while in the custody of a boarding establishment, the boarding establishment shall provide the animal with emergency veterinary treatment for the illness or the injury.

The consumer shall bear the reasonable and necessary costs of emergency veterinary treatment for any illness or injury occurring while the animal is in the custody of the boarding establishment.

IMPORTANT EMERGENCY INFORMATION

Since an emergency may happen at any time with your dog, please take the time to have your wishes recorded below.

This information is most critical for our staff and any emergency veterinary personnel.

During your dog’s stay our staff will make every effort to contact your listed veterinarian for any medical emergency or medical information.

However, after hours, weekends, holidays and in an emergency, we will use the Links Veterinary Group.

Your emergency contact also needs to know a history of any medical problems that you may have experienced with your dog.

For example, if your dog sometimes limps after playing ball, gets diarrhoea easily, or occasionally is lethargic and cranky, it would be helpful to have that history available. Then if your dog exhibits these same behaviours when in our care, your contact person will know this is normal for your dog.

When your emergency contact person is not available, we will transport your dog to the links veterinary Surgery.

If our staff transports your dog, we need to convey your wishes during your absence.

Listed below are some questions that need careful consideration.

We want to assume no responsibility for any decision that would normally be made by you, your family, and your personal veterinarian without your approval.

  1. If it is not life threatening, do you want x-rays taken? Yes_____ No_____
  2. If it is not life threatening, do you want blood work done? Yes_____ No_____
  3. If it is not life threatening, do you want the vet to do the minimum to keep your dog comfortable until your dog can be transported to your personal vet, or do you want the emergency room vet to complete treatment?

  6. If complete treatment is selected, do not exceed £__________
  7. If surgery is involved (for example, bloat) please consider the following:
  8. Complete the surgery no matter what the cost.
  9. Complete the surgery with a maximum cost of £__________
  10. If a decision is made not to do the surgery and euthanasia is recommended how would you like to have the emergency veterinarian personnel dispose of your pet’s body?
  11. Refrigerate until I return, and I will pick up my pet.
  12. Private cremation with ashes returned to me.
  13. Cremation with no return of ashes
  14. public disposal

Wedding Chaperone Services

Awesome Pride & Groom will provide the upmost care and respect for your dog(s) whilst in our care.

We will meet with you to discuss your requirements and how you wish to incorporate your dog(s) into your wedding.

If your dog is with us for the day, we will agree a time with you for us to return your dog(s). This time will be before midnight. We will not return your dog(s) to an empty property. Someone will have to be there to receive your dog(s). If no one is available, then your dog(s) will be boarded at our premises and charged accordingly.

If you are marrying on The Dunglass Estate, we will abide by their Terms and conditions with regards to where your dog is allowed. We will not breach these conditions.
